At the beginning of 2016, the French Government invested 20 million of euros to create, in the middle of Jungle camp, a temporary reception center with containers, showers and social feedback.
The following year, lost in the middle of dismantled camp, this temporary center is being demolished. Its director, Stephane Duval, activist of the local level NGO, “La Vie Active (Active Life)”, had run this place with dozens of employees. Several weeks ago, he had to lay off these workers. He is right now the alone inhabitant of the Jungle. Captain, last to abandon the ship. Almost despaired, almost grieving.
